Very shiny demos but the official website is mostly illegible to me... dark gray text on a black background just doesn't work.

Oh no! not the website! Shut your mouth Bouncer, who gives a **** if you think the dark gray text on the black background doesn't work? maybe review the actual game engine you *****

Calm Jack... no need for that language. There is nothing wrong with the guy having an opinion about the website. The ShiVa engine is very popular for a reason, it is a very stable and well supported platform. If you need more information and opinions about it you can check out their forums at www.stonetrip.com/developer/forum/

If you do decide to give it a try then come back yourself and tell us what you think about it.

Hey Jack if you are serious about wanting to know more about Shiva then also check out thess threads and links that answers some questions for new users about licensing and getting started:

Also read more about the engine concept here: www.stonetrip.com/developer/doc/

I prefer ShiVa over Unity because I find it to be equally as powerful but a lot easier on the budget for small studios.
