The FlatRedBall Engine is a 2.5D game engine focusing on ease of use and asset management. Originally, the FlatRedBall Engine was designed for 2D games, and used the 3D technology for simple effects. However, as the engine has grown, its support for 3D has also improved. Basic 3D games can be developed using the FlatRedBall Engine. FlatRedBall XNA provides more advanced 3D support. Combined with the FlatRedBall Development Kit, the FlatRedBall Engine can be used to rapidly develop any 2D game and some 3D games.

I've been working with FlatRedBall for quite some time now, and I love it. I tested several game engines before finding FlatRedBall(FRB), and I have to say FRB is the easiest engine to program with. It's jam packed with features to develop just about any type of game. It's virtually bug free, as any bugs found are always fixed in the next monthly release. The developers bring a whole new meaning to support, as they answer every question posted on their forums, usually within a few minutes to hours. Documentation for the engine is not short-changed as most engines usually are.

If I had to pick only one game engine to use for the rest of my life, FlatRedBall would be the one.

If you want to focus on developing your game instead of fighting with your engine - FRB is the right engine for you. It is very easy to use and works perfectly with Microsoft XNA Game Studio. Support from developers is awesome.

FlatRedBall is a great engine. If you have tried several engines and got tired of bad support and poor documentation, try out FRB. This engine is made to make games. It's support team beats any other. Check it out and you'll be started in no-time, making XNA games for PC, XBOX and Silverlight.
